"The sound quality of these early CV recordings are by today's standards pretty thin--lots of treble, almost no bass and--it sure seems like it, kids--in mono of all things. Nevertheless, this shit is totally freaked out, even compared to other synth pioneers like Suicide. Maybe Kraftwerk on some kind of messed-up drug. What's even better is they don't totally abandon the song form. This isn't pop by a long stretch, but there's just enough structure to keep us dumb people interested. Also, no "best of seventies punk" compilation should be complete without "Nag Nag Nag." I'm serial" USAtheist.
These are the songs that made Industrial music. Sure, TG invented it, but this is the band that provided the blueprint for everyone after.
"Ultimately, "Mix-Up" is more solid for the early stuff, and it's hard to listen to all these singles put back to back. But a few tracks here, especially "The Set Up" and "Nag Nag Nag" are not only crazy influential, they're great listening."ultramouse.
"Had it, sold it, shouldn't have done that. A better compilation of early CV works you'll be hard pressed to find." cirithungol.
